Introducing...David (dkgrab)
David lives with his wife and 3 children in Massachusetts. He's an accountant in real life, and also an adjunct professor at Lesley University. His lovely wife, Mrs Dkgrab is a registered nurse, and has to work every other weekend, leaving their 3 kids to take care of David on those occasions. David is justly proud of his cute children, picture included below.
David began playing Bridge online in mid 2002 and has been a regular player since. His work and family responsibilities limit his playing time. Yet, Bridge has become his passion. He does like to say "Family first" always though. David has also made some great BBO friends, and they all met up in Kingston, Ontario for a Regional. (Shout-outs to Braden and Pawn9!) After applying negotiations/bribery to his wife, David was granted permission to drive 8 hours with little rest to Kingston for arduous Bridge sessions. But still he insists that it's totally worth it. Other BBOer friends are fellow yellows Chas_P (his BIL mentor) and Reisig (bridge teacher extraordinaire). So he now considers himself an Intermediate/Advanced Bridge player, but a World Class winner.
Despite having only rare opportunities to play "live" Bridge, David 's few forays there have been somewhat successful. The first time he played, he won a club event. Next, he placed second in a Regional, and on his 3rd attempt at life bridge, he won a trophy! This win was the recently concluded Boston Nationals 2008, in the 299ers, and the trophy is his Edelweiss - every morning it greets him.
A hard-core multitasker, David actually logs into BBO when also working in real life (and when checking baseball and football scores - he's also currently mourning the Patriots), so please be patient if he cannot answer your questions immediately. :) In Jan, David and Kathleen will be sending their eldest child, daughter Kelsey off to begin her University adventures. Happy journey to you Kelsey!
